QazBioPharm National Holding JSC has entered into a partnership with French company Boehringer Ingelheim for production of FMD vaccines

Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev stated to the President of France Emmanuel Macron during his business trip to Paris that this is a great opportunity to strengthen the strategic partnership of the two countries and bring relations to an advanced level.
In this regard, on November 1 of the official visit of the President of France Emmanuel Macron to Kazakhstan between JSC “National Holding “QazBioPharm” and the company “Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health” (BIAH) concluded a strategic partnership on the production of vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease at the production site of the plant OtarBioPharm LLP (a daughter company of the Holding) using BIAH technologies.
Under the terms of the partnership, BIAH supplies raw materials for FMD vaccine production, and the Holding Company carries out the final stages of production, including formulation, filling, packaging and marketing.
BIAH will cooperate with the Holding by providing the necessary raw materials, but also technical and scientific support for the production process.
This form of cooperation allows the strengths of both companies to be leveraged to ensure efficient production of vaccines, which in turn will help to provide the market with a quality drug to fight infectious diseases.
As a result of the collaboration, Kazakhstan has the immense opportunity to become a FMD-free country, meeting OIE standards, which will allow the country to export meat to foreign markets, including EU countries.
Yergali Abduraimov, General Director of the Holding, said at the Kazakh-French Business Forum: «This industrial partnership will develop industrial know-how in the production of high quality FMD vaccines and will help Kazakhstan to establish the production and distribution of high quality FMD vaccines.
